how do i get a credit card?

try providian. Thats how I got my first credit card. then I got a line of credit and a macy's card to buy my at the time girlfriend now wife something nice.

I was like 21 when I started building credit bought a house at 23 and have owned it for 3 years. doesn't take much to build up your credit once you get it rolling. In the beginning it takes time so definately start now. Oh and I never went to college.

Just don't rack up credit card debt cause that is a bit** to get rid of when you have a crap load of financial reponsibilities.

Stop by the financial aid department of the school you plan on attending. They'll walk you through it. (loans to pay for school, books, dorm etc.)

I agree.. college loan will build your credit, but goverment college loans you won't start paying on til your done with college unless there's a way to pay early or you get a loan through another financial institution/not the goverment.
