how do i get my oscar to start eating??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
LoL okay its entering 2weeks now it is still not accepting any pellets leaving all my pellets to develop some white"flower" or i dunno wad to call it><
i went to a lfs and got a pack of feeder goldfish today whoa there alot in a pack... and i put introduce some of them into the tank my oscar in residing in.. immediately my oscar turns very active and has been chasing all around the tank for the guppies.

but there is a new problem for the oscar now..The guppies appears to swim too fast that after hours my oscar cant seem to catch any-.-! it only managed to catch one or two dead ones laying on the tank floor (perhaps due to poor condition in the packing while in the lfs or on my journey back) other than that my oscar cant seem to eat any of the guppies at all..and given the rate these guppies reproduce zzzz it looks like i will have a new tank of fish to feed instead of them being used to feed my oscar..zzz damn wads up with my oscar.. lol

and btw i also got a betta today, sorta bought it on impulse.i could've been enticed by the lights the lfs use to shine it bringing out some nice effects when it spread it fins

So when he finally ate the feeders, it was only the ones that died first when bringing them home?

I hope you haven't grown attached to that oscar yet. Your next post will be "How do I cure ***RANDOM DISEASE NAME***?"

Yea, better start reading up on ich & parasite treatments now. You should never have thrown in feeders. Also-if he doesn't eat the pellets then net them out. Never let them sit there and get mold on them.

yeah ive got a submersible filter doing the job..but the molded pellets would initially get stucked at the mouth gap of the filter then after a few days it would eventually get totally sucked(dissocciate) into the sponge...
