How do I keep my water clear??? (Load Warning)

To be honest first off if i were you, and please this is only my humble opinion, I would try dr. Sudz first. Its obvious u don't want to hear it but if u are doing 2-3 wc's a week then u shouldn't be having these probs. I have had 55's with double ur load crystal clear with 2 wc's. My 270 bloomed for about 5 months on and off til I got it under control.

I don't its an algae problem because there is no build-up of algae on the walls of the tank or anywhere else. It rarely gets any direct sunlight if any. The problem I think can simply be a matter of dust from the substrate that wasn't rinsed properly (although I think I did rinsed it properly) or its from the dust from the filter media from my canister filter. I know that other posts lead on to an algae bloom in my tank but my water is not cloudy but it has miniscule free floating particles which I classify as dust. I have seen a cloudy tank and its nowhere near cloudy looking.

But then again I can be wrong.

Here's what I'll do, I won't do any water changes for a week although I will continue to monitor my water parameters so that I can find out if my filters will caught up with my bio-load. Tank does not get any direct sunlight if any so I guess I won't try the blanket approach. I might also get a finer filter media for the canister that can filter smaller particles.

I apologize if I sounded abbrassive in any of my previous posts. It was not meant to be and is only imparted to clear my point.

I would try a 100 micron pad in the canister and wait a week for the wc's. Two birds...

So you figure this is some type of algae prob?

No, but there is a bloom. He has too much gravel to many dissolved particles. It will work......Algae is not the only thing that is photosynthetic. The blanket WILL starve the cloud.....Dr suddz just might agree...

I will wait a week for a water change and then buy the filter pad (funds are tight right now) and testing the parameters every other day.

Almost done recycling as other members have said. I am yet to test today, but I will once I come home after school. Hopefully I will be seeing the magical "0 0" reading...

Keep us posted

Man... My readings just doesn't make sense. My current readings are
Amm = 0.25
NO2 = 0.05
NO3 = 0.20

It seems like the readings keep on changing randomly.
