how do i stabilize a 1 gallon tank

The best way to stabalize a 1 gallon tank is to sink it in a larger one..

, honestly moving over some gravel from an established tank and placing it in a media bag in an HOB filter would keep it bare bottom like you want and move enough bacteria to get the tank cycled quickly.

well after killing some fry and a 3 4 week old guppys i think i need to change what i am doing.
i have the sponge in the tank but with i am getting a nitrite reading and a .25-.50 ammonia readings. i am going to see about finding a small h/o filter for it. would filling it with bio balls or the ceramic rings help ?
i can say out of experiance that guppy fry will grow just fine in plain old tap water with no filter and some ground fish flakes, good to go. (guppy fry make good fish food themselves anyway) oh yeah and daily water changes just make sure you dont pour em down the drain.........which ive never done........on purpose..........ever.......um..........
