How do you adhere your background?

KY are you serious...i have used just tape ime but have heard olive oil wors well but you gotta do it with the tank sideways(empty)when doing this. IMO tape works fine

They do sell background glue specifically for this purpose....not sure how it works but I'm assuming pretty well. I've seen it at Petco but I can't remember the name of it. You could try that.

I left the back clear and bought an ocean view villa in the keys ! worked for me! lol! I use clear tape. :)

I used the tape that sign shops make to put up lettering in shop windows. Its cheap and they'll make any coulour you wish (and also any size you want).
It adheres as you roll it along but you need a sponge to roll it out as you go to keep the air bubbles down.

I have painted backgrounds on mine and I love it. I don't like the picture ones beacuse I think they all look a bit cheasy, maybe just never looked hard enough. But the painted backgrounds work great if you want just a single color.

I have some painted and some tinted. If you just use an acrylic base paint it will wash off pretty easily with warm soapy water. I have also used Vaseline to secure a black tint background to some of my tanks, looks like crap until it dries and then it looks nice. If the tint doesnt stick the first time, then just use some Vaseline.

If it helps when I first started out years ago I used to use backgrounds and had many problems, water gave the best results short term but after a few months it would start to come off again, since then I've always done just fine without one.
Hope you get ours sorted out soon...
