How do you aireate a large tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you are doing 8000gph never worry about o2 unless u are keeping this tank really really hot. don't put media in your overflows you won't be able to clean it and it will get nasty

+1. U will never have to worry bout a aerator/bubbler if your running that much flow. Also u can run a wet/dry sump with trickle system which will also provide lots of oxygen for your tank. I'm not running any aerators. Just 10000gph of flow and a trickle system.

Thanks guys! I might just get three powerheads with the airline outputs so that I have a lot of bubbles. I will make a bubble wand that will go the full length of the tank as well. Anyone wondering how to make a bubble wand pm me.

Again RESEARCH, your lack of undersdtanding of basic things is why your threads always turn to crap. You need to ask questions once you at least have a base knowledge to understand the answers given.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the point of this forum was to: ask and answer questions, bounce ideas off one another, and RESEARCH. I know that I used this site for much of my research for years before ever posting. I would look around the net to see what advise I could find then, compare with what MFK had to say. If we all need to do our research before posting on this site, then what is the point? If this was a site only for the "experts" to argue which way was best, then it would only serve to discourage new people from entering or continuing in fish keeping. Just my 2 cents, that is or leave it as you will.

If you have a hang on back you will be fine. I point my fx5 up.. problems solved... Even then if I was worried I could run a HOB ... Like I did... Or plants that put oxygen into the water n suck up the cardondioxide.
