Whats wrong with the pressure washer?
When I do the gravel vac/water change, I just put the hose to my pressure washer and go to town. Mine doesn't need alot of volume when I use the rotating tip...For me that's quick and easy...

The pressure washer would work great if the media was thinner. It's like an inch thick and if held up to the light you can see a little discoloration in the center.

I'm probobly just being picky. it worked fine for the most part.

Just kinda new at DIY filtration and more than anything just like to hear others' ways, means, and methods.

So just soak in bleech overnite then rinse out eh? Sounds easy enough. I have just always been very paranoid about using any kind of cleaners like bleech, and residual soap like in the washer. But if you guys say it's OK I'de give it a shot.

What kind of mechanical media do you prefer John?

i am using large pleated cartridge filters in hayward filters

Do you have different sizes of filters? (Micron) Or do you run just one size? And if so what size?

Swimming pool filters right?
