Takes a long time for the tanins to leak out............. diatom filter will temporarily clear it up. I got tired of waiting to clear so I through a few pieces in the bottom of my pool for a several days and they never leached again......PERFECT. I dont know if anyone has tried soaking in a large tub w a small bit of bleach followed by a good good rinse and some dechlorinator.
