HOW DO YOU JUSTIFY THE EXTRA COST?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eheim also has superior flow rate, and don't false advertise like marineland use to do (not sure if they still do). They advertise the flow rate without media in the canister.

Eheim also has much higher media capacity. You really get what you pay for with eheim.

Did you ever think that maybe there is no major Eheim repair center in the US because their products don't break that often. LOL!

So what happens when you do have a problem? My guess is you by an aquatop and use it while you ship your Eheim back to Doodleberg.

lol, I knew I'd need that FOXHOLE and HELMET;) As I said earlier in the post I'm trying to use this post to help me decide what to do at this point? I'm sure I'm not the first one on here to have there living room made into a lake? It just scared me a bit to hook the filter back up as I wasn't sure it was just the hose and clamp leaking. And then to top it off in my case there support people acted like they could care less yes they are sending parts but only after they did me a favor, the one point made I have to disagree with was the comment about being upset about the fine print on the warranty. That's like buying a car the first day you have it the motor blows up and the manufacture tells you sorry only the tires are covered under the warranty. To the person who made that comment let's just agree that we disagree and leave it at that please? I'm sure that there are hundreds of you who own FX5's who have never had to use support and love the filter but in my case I hope most people would understand.

I'm sure many of you out there have plenty of extra money for the Eheims but I'm not one of them and thats life. In this case I think I'm going to try and get the Eheim as I'm getting tired of messing with filters. The only filters I can comment on are ones I've had so please don't read my post with respect to Rena, Sun Sun, Eheim as I never owned one sometime its had to post a issue and have it come out the way it's ment. The only solid thing I can say here is Yes I have a problem in MY CASE with Hagen Support . And to me anyone who has had a bad experence often feels as I do. With the Fluvals I have I just don't see the quality improvement over the Marinelands which I feel is anyones right.

As already said earlier I'm told I'm just a pain in the ??? :headbang2. But with your conviction with your post you have all helped me out.

Uhhhh, are you referring to this statement I made?:

"I understand that you're dissatisfied about the "fine print" & customer service.. and I'd be really aggravated about a leak."

I have no idea HOW that sentence could bother anyone.
You mentioned their fine print in your prior post, & wth's wrong?

Petspoiler I owe you an apology I miss read the post and I was trying to respond to two post at one time. Again I'm so sorry as your responce was most helpful and appropriate.

Hey also wanted to add that in this case I'm am not just using Aquatop it was an example if the truth be it known I have been mostly meaning Marineland C-Series but there are so many other budget filters I was trying to be general. But if you want a comparision use the Marineland C-Series.

Your good man, you want to learn, no one can hinder that.

It's just a great filter in all honesty. I've had xp4 and yes aquatop at one point in my life, and IME you really can't compare, is say the fx5 has 2x the flow, and the parts are sturdy and solid. Not to mention the pumps like a trolling motor. I could never go back.

Wow that's awesome. I couldn't be happier with my fx5! How is your media configured? I've heard of people stuffing bio in the sides?

Go S. Vettel #1 rb8

The standard sponges on the sides, floss in top & center , biomax in bottom (on my main tank that has a sump.

Simular on the rest but because of driftwood , center in some has crushed coral to keep my ph in check, all my tanks have alt filters in conjunction with fx5.

Strange that you had this problem with Hagen. As stated earlier they treated me great and solved my problem , but I'm blessed with diplomatic grace. I'm gonna see if I can get the emails from them posted for you , at first they didn't want to help I didn't get frustrated just remained persistant:)

Wouldn't the motor be the motor?

Tubes the tires?
