Hey guys. I have two nocturnal fish; a spotted rapheal and a green pictus. I love both, i do water changes for them but I NEVER SEE THEM haha. I have had both for a while and am tired of not seeing them. What do some of you guys do to see your nocturnal fish? Thanks

with the ligths off? lol jp :grinno:

well with the lights off in my 75, and the white sand substrate my black ghost knife kinda stands out. but, even with the hood lights off and the room dimly lit i can still see into my tank pretty well

You need some moon lighting. Basically just some blue leds.

strobe light.
usually mine would come out in the evening with mellow room lighting, no tank lights, and bring shrimp.

Turn the lights out for 15 mins. Make sure its dark in the room. I use a lil pencil flashlight with some fabric over the top. The only way I can even see some plecos in my pleco tank

I agree. At first I'd never see my BGK. Once they they get comfortable, nocturnal fish will come out when it's bright if food is involved.

You'll never see your raphaels. Just forget you have them; you will forget about them eventually anyways.

Speaking of which, I have a little spotted raphael that i've had for almost 5 years. I've seen it less than 20 times during this time. several of those times was me trying to find it.
