How does my stock sound ?

sounds like an ideal discus tank. you could definitely pull off 6 maybe even 8. the most important thing with discus is water quality and consistency. my buddy breeds them. I think right now he has 8 different tanks and well over 40 discus. I think last I checked he had 6 pairs. they are definitely a rewarding fish to keep but mega demanding. he's always working on his tanks. good luck with them. they are very cool.
 
I may try it then. The tank is in the living room as soon as you come in the door so I would definitely be very well taken care of. I have a book on discus care I'll make sure to read it again and look through some sites online to make sure I get everything right

in a high traffic area, be careful. I would recommend staying away from wild caught specimens as they can be extremely skittish and high traffic areas can really stress them. you should be fine though with tank bred fish.
 
How do Oscars and Severums mix? I've had both but never together...

Ok haven't updated my tank status in a while so here it is. I bought the Oscar and a Red Severum and a gold. Everyone gets along great,
But, I've had a change in taste suddenly and I'm changin my stock around. Nothing major but here it is.
I have a 72 bowfront and my 220 so this is how I'm going to change it.
In the72 :
My Breeding pair of Green Severums
In the 220:
- Florida Gar
- Red Severum
- Gold Severum
- Kelberi Bahia pbass
- Indo Dat
- Male Marble Motoro Ray.

I'm going to sell the Oscar. Already sold the Rotkeils to a friend and will probably sell the G. Braselensis. What does everyone think? Any questions or concerns?
