How dumb are some fish keepers

This is how dumb some fish keepers are in my area. I am selling my F1 5" lyonsi cichlid and some guy wanted to offer me a 7" parrot fish and say its a fair trade and he tried telling me that my lyonsi isn't that colorful. What do you think colorful or not for a 5" lyonsi

they look pretty colorful but ive never kept them so idk what they should look like, me personally i wouldn't take the trade since i hate parrot fish

I'd say most parrot cichlids I've seen are more colorful than your lysoni.

just because someone doesn't appreciate the same fish as you do doesn't make them less intelligent, just that they have different tastes. most people consider bluegill drab fish. but they're some of my favorite fish.

I agree with you but for the size it was nicely colored and he that it was a convict as well

Yea no offense, but Gill Blue is right. Lysoni is nice looking but its not that colorful than a blood parrot.

He is not dumb if he's trying to hustle you on a trade. I find that trade fish is very hard to deal with because each person perceived value of a fish is different.

+ 1. Maybe he's not dumb. Maybe he's just trying to rip you off or is a constant low baller. There's a guy on MFK in Orange County who is kinda infamous for low balling and flaking like that.
