How hard to find Cichla Piquiti?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dude we payed 100 at 1in payed for its food, elec, water and its rarity from 1-5in the price would def be over 200/250 at that size! i mean these guys that are selling for 250 a 7in that is hella cheap, if you are to cheap to buy that then woah... GL. if there is one thing i have learned in this hobby of cichla is that you can't be picky..

Good points, who knows when those little hundred dollar two inchers will come through again.

I would prefer to raise my own. But gotta do what you gotta do. Will be purchasing 2 from the link provided in this thread.

Will keep on the lookout for kelberi ;)

man i kinda feel the same as the others...seems like a lot of money to pay, thats why i havent gotten one. but i feel you on the time/money/effort to grow these guys out.

i just dont see myself paying hundreds for a captive bred baby cichla. im gonna play the waiting game with the azuls :)

i have my theories that none of these azuls, kelberis and orinos that have been coming in are wild caught. i think theyre all being captive bred in another country. i just find it hard to believe that all these THOUSANDS of hard to find fish were all hand caught and netted in the wild

I can see where you're comin from...I've always pictured these cichla collectors to work the same way snookn does, by collecting the eggs and not the actual fry. "Sight" fishing nest where they can positively ID an adult and collecting the eggs in the nest to hatch in hatchery. with this technique I can see hundreds of fry surviving.

Man...if all my cichla weren't wild caught, i'd be pretty distraught.:irked:

hey you can't be picky but when I'm spending my money I will be as picky as I want homie AND I PROMISE THIS YOUR POCKETS AREN'T AS DEEP AS MINE YOUR a young buck I spend wisely and I'm done I will wait oh & if they are so rare there's certainly alot of them out there make your money I'm not hating I'm just not paying those prices
