you must realize that my main point was that this has nothing to do with people taking or not taking a shot because they are stupid or smart.

Again, I suspect that the vast majority of members taking part in this discussion understand that. lol

This circle is STILL spinning, kinda amazed.

This is walking on very thin ice. You should consider yourself lucky that Oddball and Rob are not active currently. This thread is a mess.

I understand the problem buddy. Say the word and I’ll turn in my pistol and badge.

There are now N95 surgical respirators available for health care workers which in addition to being N95 masks are also ASTM Level 3 masks. N95 filtration: 95% of particles .3 micron in size. ASTM Level 3 filtration: 99% of particles .1 micron in size and the material is fluid resistant.

While COVID-19 virus size range from .02 - .5 microns, they are not free floating but attach to a droplet particle which can range from .5 - 20 microns in size.

The trouble with surgical masks that are ASTM Level 3, is that the masks do not seal around the face, so an N95 respirator is the better option.

Agreed, not sure how things are in the USA but here in Canada the vast majority of health care workers are provided with Level 3 surgical masks - including ALL staff in long term care facilities. On a unit with active cases, a face shield is added to the equation (at least in my buildings it is) , in a room with covid positive patient, a gown and gloves is added to that. I have N95 masks for dust particles, but I am not allowed to wear outside of a high dust scenario.

By the way I’m not excluding myself from that business about conditioned response.

I’ve been conditioned by my experiences too.

It is freaking hard to look above that.

Ugh :( :( That is so wrong. Employers should provide the PPE that gives the most protection

I was able to purchase N95 masks made in China but given a NIOSH number. I purchased them from two different vendors including one on EBay. I just check EBay and there are several vendors selling this mask (and there are other N95 masks). Now, even the dental supply company I've been using for years and who didn't have my favorite surgical masks for 9 months last year is now selling these masks along with two types of surgical N95 respirators.

Here are three N95 level 3 masks on the market:

not much other than the stimulus money i got
I have a problem with how the stimulus payments were handled. It should have gone out to the people impacted by the pandemic - like those who lost their jobs and had problems paying their rent. It should never had been doled out to inmates who got $1200, etc., to buy items in Canteen and who already got two hots and a cot every day and who were in no wise financially impacted by the pandemic.
