How I got my white tip reef shark. A cautionary tale on who not to buy from

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well - lemons & whitetip reefs tend to be better choices than other requiem sharks - simply because they aren't ORVs - like the Blacktip reefs.

Lemons - have the disadvantage of growing very large - average 8-10 ft. While whitetip reefs tend to stay at a more managible average 5-6ft.

Of all the sharks you have it will be the Lemon which will dictate the footprint of their final tank/lagoon.

My end plan is to have huge tank that is part of the house but that will take some time to get there. In the mean time I have a 40'x40' Insulated Steel building that has nothing really in it. I don't really use it for anything but collecting junk. It was there when we bought the house and once and awhile I would pull one of my dozers or something in to work on but its normally empty. So think that I going to set up a 30' round pool in there when these guys get a little bigger and use that while I work on the big tank on the house.

im looking to do a shark pond what is the best thing if to be doing it inside

Hey...where do you guys get your fish? All of the lfs in the bronx suck! I usually go online, but thier is nothing but live-aquaria and blue zoo. (I like these two sites lol). It seems that you guys have better luck, bumblee bee groupers have never heard of in an lfs or on an online sale. Btw im not planning on ever tackling a shark or grouper unless in the future. Also im well aware that big fish need big tanks!

I am searching for this guys site now, nothing comes up on google...so I am assuming that this guy is done?

I would have asked for at least a partial refund. If denied I would have then made a fuss elsewhere to make him feel like the scumbag that he obviously is. Sad when people do this. I have only taken money on a fish "Pre-Order" once...didnt get the fish in, I GOT SCAMMED, but immediately contacted the buyer and sent him a check in the mail later that week.
