How "I" Keep My Water Clean...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my point was that he fills from the tap and uses no conditioner! 99% of people would say thats a sure fire way to kill your fish but the rays are all perfectly healthy and huge too!

And in most cases that would be a sure fire way to kill rays, obviously your friend has 0 or near 0 mg/l of chlorine in his his tap water.

Nice fish. I like the big water changes too, but I leave enough water for the fish to remain in their normal upright position, or take them out if I want to take out more.

dont know what his chlorine reading is but he only lives 6 miles from me so i imagine ours is the same - wish i had the balls to do it myself - would save a fortune on tap-safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

found this - not sure what it tells me though lol

This is starting to get off topic, but 6 miles can potentially make a difference in chlorine levels. There are chlorine test kits available if you want to look into it further.

Bottom line is, even at low levels, over an extended duration exposure to chlorine can cause health issues in fish.

lol you sir have certainly failed as a fiskeeper good thing u stick to hardy fish only wouldnt wanna see you keep discus!
and what r u to judge him fail?
video shows extreme side of WC i agree with that but to judge him fail?
looking at his collection he got nice and healthy fish and even rarer fish than prolly most of guys here. you dont get that kinda result if its a fail.
i have a friend in Los Angeles..and he is breeding discuss out of his back-yard in concreted unused garbage room that he converted..and its not thats all hard.

For those that missed it the first time around ........

Yes, I was side track when doing wc. usually they are upright :) Wont happen again
