This is some crazy stuff! OK, my girlfriend just called and told me that at Cargill, they are saying that with the forecast rains over the next two to three days the river should crest at around 27 feet! Now, the official forecast is for the Cedar to crest at 24.5 feet. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, the floods in '93 that made national news only got to a level of 19.6 feet.

One of my co-workers has a friend that works in the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce that sent her an email saying that they've activated the 500 year flood plan. The map that outlines this plan shows massive flooding. What a disaster!

what are the details for the plan? anyway to get a copy of the map on here?

The black outline is where the 500 year levels are projected. As you can see, it will swallow Cedar Lake.

Are you high and dry where you live? God bad enough flooding but then to have all this thunder and lightning and tornados etc..
Do you all stay on line even through thunderstorms .. {especially like these} i get knocked off with broadband if any bad weather is in the area..

Currently in the basement watching the weather.

There's a possible tornadic cloud very very close to us, so there's probably a 85% of a tornado, we'd estimate either a F1 or F2.

I'll keep you updated, I certainly hope that we don't get anything too bad.
