OK, my girlfriend just called and told me that at Cargill, they are saying that with the forecast rains over the next two to three days the river should crest at around 27 feet! Now, the official forecast is for the Cedar to crest at 24.5 feet. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, the floods in '93 that made national news only got to a level of 19.6 feet.
One of my co-workers has a friend that works in the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce that sent her an email saying that they've activated the 500 year flood plan. The map that outlines this plan shows massive flooding. What a disaster!
what are the details for the plan? anyway to get a copy of the map on here?
