How long a 3-4 months stingray can go without food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You should be doing large waterchanges on your rays every couple days. At least 2 a week. It's just standard procedure with rays. If they won't be getting food for a few days, at least they will have clean water

Dude, where did you get this stardard from?. I'm a once a week water changer and my nitrates are 20 ppm not that I I care that they are that low. How do you know his tank size?

They will be fine. I've had pups stave themselves for over a week that were already skinny. If yours are fat you'll be fine

If your worried about your ray starving, could you add a live food like blackworms that can survive in the tank without polluting it?
If you add more than your ray normally eats,it could pick them off for a couple of days while your away.

maybe leave some healthy feeders for them to be able to hunt when they get hungry?\
maybe leave some danios, or guppies or swordtails?

He's got a 285 gallon with 2 large arowana and 2 BD pups. Filtration is canister filters. I'd be changing water at least twice a week with that stocking in a smallish tank with no sump or drip.
