I left one once over winter break in college with no food. That's what, 3 weeks? No problems whatsoever. The larger the fish the longer they can go (more fat reserves).
My GT was sick with internal parasites/worms an didn't eat a thing for 3 weeks, he is only 4-5" he lost a lot of weight but luckily the meds worked in the end and he is fine now, do you remember or have you seen any clear or stringy white poo or are you just trying to ween him off feeders and on to pellets?
if this fish is new, I'd start suspecting worms or some other parasite as the above post said...look around the fish's vent, look to see if there are threadlike worms sticking out
the fish is new it will be in tank for 2weeks this coming tues i have never seen him poop at all which is weird. he has ate earthworms but nothing else yesterday i gave him 1 half worm and he ate that but he will not eat pellets or anything that floats. he has ate flakes off the bottom not the top. i have not seen any worm like thing from the vent. he ate freeze dried shimp the first day but since then has not pooped that i have seen or ate anymore shrimp i have ordered some prazi pro and i should have that this week so i'll treat for parasites. he is not losing weight as far as i can see he is plump and very active on the glass he has dulled in body color but his head is bright red but body is almost white. he was all red when i got him he was in a tank with a bunch of big oscars and pacu

I wouldn't worry too much. My Red Isletas (which is basically a Midas) didn't eat for almost three weeks. He took a long time to get acclimated. Now, he eats everything. I even caught him with a Convict in his mouth.
Keep trying and he will come around. I wouldn't worry much about parasites either unless you spot some of the symptoms. Simply not eating isn't necessarily a sign of parasites. There are other symptoms that are better indications of parasites.
