Takes me a while since my tap water is not what my fish require. So a lot of buffers and this and that. I'm trying to come up with a new way but as of now it takes me about 4 hrs on all my tanks including my breeder rack.

Ya, I thought it meant per tank, too. I generally do 3 or 4 at a time, so I can get them done 3 nights a week, or half on Saturday, half on Sunday. Then there are two at my elementary school, do those Friday afternoon.

Two hours average for all my tanks.

It would take less time but my three year old has to "help".

Is there a thread on this auto drip thing? I might want to do it on my 600g

depends the time of year. summer it takes about 15 minutes because i drain water out window and fill from hose outside window....but during winter it takes quite a bit longer so i hold out a bit on doing waterchanges (nitrates still stay under 40 at all times) but i think once i get my bigger tank i'm going to have to get a python or i'll just get a few trash cans that'll hold my waterchange amount and fill them with cold outside water and let them warm up a day and do my w/c's.

Well I voted for the 1-2 hours only because thats ONE of my tanks :) I have help but total would be the 2 60gs, 75g, 90g, and 20g eeek

about ten minutes if it is strictly a water change (which it rarely ever is)

over an hour if I feel like redecorating

I was spending around 2 hours on my tank every friday just changing water and vacuuming one half of the tanks substrate. Getting the water out did not take long but putting it back took much longer. My tank is 700 gallons total volume including the sumps. I would change 300 gallons at a time. I would do more but its just a pain.

I now use a continous drip water changing system. I replace around 60 to 75 gallons per day. I like it so much better. I will follow the Nitrates and adjust the drip up or down depending on how they do. I will still perform a gravel vac every week or two and change out the filter floss but the maintance is going to me soooo much less.

Go drip!!!!:headbang2:grinno:
