How long till I will need to upgrade?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good thing about the loaches & dats is they don't grow particularly fast...the slow growth of those fish that's always listed as a minus is actually a plus in this case, how about that :)

OK...I have gotten rid of 3 of the SD"s and the Severum. So I guess I'm off to a good start!!!

I'd say your in the clear for 3-6 months depending on growth. During that time period I'd be looking on ebay, craigslist for some deals or you can always put a tank on lay-a-way, if your lfs does that, and shoot for a tank in the 180 and up range.

Let me tell you the bad reason I got rid of them...I was going to take them back anyways but....They got ick. I will be so mad at myself if my other fish come down with it. That just taught me I'd better get a quarentine tank pronto and to stop buying fish!!! I don't need anymore. Do any of you know is it possible my other fish did not contract it? None of my other fish show any visible signs as yet. Also, I am going to treat anyways to be on the safe side as I will be devastated if I lose any of my other fish due to my stupidity. I have turned my heat up and added about 12 tbls of salt. How much more can/should I add. I don't want to harm my other fish.

If they got it in your tank, then yes, your other fish could get it as well. The next step is to figure out WHY they got it. You can then treat accordingly, wether it be a temp issue, water quality issue, aggression issue, etc. Something stressed them enough to get it.

:ROFL:I like that!!

Well, I did something horribly impulsive and stupid. I had only just got those 4 fish a week ago, the ones I took back. They had an ick infested tank at the LFS that I pointed out to them.:duh: I checked all the other tanks and didn't find another tank or fish with problems. So I bought fish.:swear: I had still been watching those new fish very carefully and last night there it was. I know please don't flame me as I am flaming myself!!!:wall::wall::wall::wall::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh::duh:

Anyways it had to be them because I Never had a problem with ick EVER until I brought home those new fish. My water quality is always great as I am addicted to cleaning my tank. I do 10 to 15 % water changes a couple times a week and water params are all 0 except nitrates they stay about 5. So they are great.
