Hmmmm It seems so. Or do I just tank my poor JD back to the store and get a gf for my GT?? Be honest here guys. I don't wanna stress my poor JD to death or get too attached to him

Last resort, totally redo the tank - it if looks similar to you then it's gonna look similar to them. Really shake it up. if that doesn't work, and you hate seeing them spat, then take the JD back and get a female GT... just make sure there are no other fish in the tank as when they start spawning, it'll be WWIII in there.

How big did you say your tank was?

Jess, whats the size of the JD and GT (hard to guess from the pic), and as teqvet said tank size? I think I may know someone in your neck of the woods who would love to take a JD that looks that nice off your hands, either that or hes got a male convict he may be willing to part with that would act well as a dither/target fish

(first post from a long time lurker/ first time poster, just never had what I'd consider to be a "monster fish")

I would really hate to take my JD back coz he really is gorgeous. If I am gonna re arrange the tank does that me I have to remove him for a week again?

My tank is a 4foot 280litre. In the next couple of months I am going to be getting an 8foot tank for my 2 oscars and then these 2 fish will have their own tanks anyway.

So I was even thinking of making a temporary tank divider with a small hole in it to put in my oscar tank for my GT that way he can go in with them but get away from the O's if need be???

Both fish are about 3inches in size. I also breed convicts and have a couple of young males about an inch in size. Do u reckon they are any help?

WOW another Tassie amongst us. Where about in Tassie R U?

A week? no.. maybe just a day or two. Long enough for the JD to hunt around and explore and get used to the space on his own. These roles could reverse and you could find the JD beating the tar out of the GT though so be careful.

One inch connies, LOL, doubt it. You would want one at least 2.5inches (if your guys are 3inch) but up to 3.5->4 inches should be OK. Adding enough to spread the love (or angst) around.

I'm in the hobart area.
