How many cats is enough?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Walking catfish seem to max out around 18"-20", agreed.

In the wild, Sperata aor and Sperata acicularis get to about the same max size of 4'-5'.

Sat
taking a well earned rest on top of the stone perch he just fought for and lost part of his tail. When he was 3" he was spitting image of the photo on PC of maculatus but now at almost 8" his patterning looks more like pantaneiro.
This is the first time I’ve seen this sp. outstanding markings. I caught a similar few on my trip to Surinam last month.

I have precisely the same story about one of our blochii too. Also bought as maculatus when small and also morphing into something very close looking as yours with high def markings. It's in the thumbnail for the vid and I talk about it later on in the video:

Lovely collection and photos. Thank you so very much for this.

A pedantic note - the decorus-looking syno is hands down beautiful but it is a hybrid, not a genuine species, not decorus. If you doubt,

-- true decorus must have stripes in the dorsal and especially caudal fins;
-- a long black extension on the dorsal fin (can be bitten off);
-- small branches on its maxillary barbels (only 1 or two syno species feature that); these barbels on yours look smooth, branchless.
