dude...i bred 2 pairs of cons at the same time in a 10 gal. it worked out fine. i was planning on keeping them there until my tank cycled and they both had babies lol. so its possible

2 breeding pairs in a 10 gallon may be possible, but it's not exactly the best conditions for your fish

ya obviously not. with that in mind, 20 gallons for one pair is 4 times the size mine bred in. so it will work

The dorsal doesnt work with cons, my female has a long pointed dorsal, but the pink belly is always correct. Wow $20 for 50, thats easy money.

easy money for the first batch but even if the LFS is willing to take them now it wont take long before the area becomes saturated with them and he can't sell them. If you want to make money breeding fish you need to breed rare and/or difficult to breed fish.

If the op wants to raise them for his cats I'd suggest cutteri. They breed just as easy as con's but grow much faster. I've used 20Longs for breeding con's with no issues.

Here's a pic of one of my females with long fins. pink/orange belly is the easist way to sex. Often you can sex them that way at 1". I've had them breed at 1.5"

ive got females with the long flowing fins as well. Definatly the common practice isnt a good idea when sexing these lil guys
