How many dwarf frogs can i stick in my 5 gallon

i think a pair of frogs would be fine, a person can overcome a messy pet w/ more frequent tank cleaning. i have had butterfly loaches in rather calm tanks before and not had any problems w/ them. i do understand that they come from faster moving current, but they seem to cope well w/ average tank life. the tank my local lfs keeps them in only has an undergravel and the butterfly loaches are active and healthy....but again i would recamend frequent cleaning....maybe twice a week. consider the fact that you are looking at putting 4 or 5 pets in a 5 gallon tank...their health needs to be considered

This frogs evolved to eat tiny aquatic organisms. Dapnia, bloodworms, tubifex ,worms, brine shrimp and mosquito larvae, live or unfrozen will be acepted. Had them for many years, however never saw them acepting pellets or flake food, generaly they take them in and then spit them. Feed daily in 2 small porcions. I think that tank is kind of uncofortable for them(they will adapt but you should make what it takes for them to become more at home;)) Youll need a cople of floating plants and a log, as they like horizontal places near the survace in order to rest. Also I would replace that white sand for a darker one as it gives a sence of security for most animals. As for quantitys I would go for only 2-3. The thing here is that tank is very small so water quemistry can be unstable. A 20gallon would be much better but if you insist be shure to do very frequent small water changes. Dont forget to declorinate the water. Also I would quarentine the frogs first before introducing them(by the way make shure that beta is 100%healty because anything that afects fish can easily kill frogs) Also cover that filter intake because a frog can easily get cauth in there and drown. That´s why my favorite filter for this guys are simple sponge filters. And yes they are escape artists.

Be wary of the frogs and any fish you want to keep in the tank, I've seen them attack and tear fins of fish in the tanks with them. I would only put one or two in there if you take out the betta. You don't want either of them getting mad and attacking the other. If it were me, I'd just leave the betta in there, and not put a frog in, but make sure you have a little heater in there so the temp stays constant if you dont want everything in there to get sick wether you put a frog in or not. You can get little heaters on www.drsfostersmith.com for really cheap, or check your local walmart.

The frogs are scavengers and will eat pellets, bloodworms, beefheart, anything really for freshwater.

I agree having had dwarf aquatic frogs as a kid they annoy fish and will tear fins up in crowded tanks as they swim by .
They will also dig all his sand up and turn that pretty set up into a mess

i think if you want to add something to the tank, i'd get a couple ladies for ur beta and be done w/ it. that tank is cool the way it is and i'd try not to change much. if you want frogs, keep ur eyes open for a free tank, someplace between 10 and 30 gal and then set up a community in there. (last summer i got a 46 bowfront for $20)
