I don't own an FX5 but I'll surely buy one if it ever crosses my path. My canister filter experience is with the eheim clones. Jebo is the chinese company that manufactured my filter. I got the thing for around 60 bucks and it's rated for a 75 gallon tank. It's cheap and it's never failed me - can't really ask for more!

I have one running on a lightly stocked 240 gallon tank. I think it is a decent filter. The flow rate is great but it leaves something to be desired in bio and mechanical filtration.

Mmmmm well since I only joined less than a month ago, and I have a low post count means that I have no knowledge in setting up and maintaining a healthy aquarium and can't raise a beautifully colored fish?

It simply means you need to earn your stripes. The more quality posts you contribute to the forum, the more weight your words will carry.

I have one on an overstocked 125 that is doing a great job, the water is crystal, but I also do water changes at least once a week, ussually twice.

For the money they are hard to beat IMO.

It's all good. I've been around the block a time and a half :nilly: and know how websites work. And being the newbie doesn't bother me at all. I jest

i have a question although it doesn't pertain to how many fluval's i have( by the way i own 2 eheim 2217's) i just wanted to ask those out there that own both eheim's and fluval's which one makes more noise when in operation. my eheim's are probably the quietest filters i have heard, sometimes i have to put my hand on mine to see if it is still working instead of putting my hand in my tank.

You can hear the Fluval, but I wouldn't consider it loud at all.

Yes, the Eheims are silent.

Another point that gets missed is the cost of running the two brands. Eheim is much cheaper in the long run (less watts).

I was wondering who is runnign the most Fluval FX5 canister filters and how do they rate em! I think they are better than any eheim go post how many you have i have 3.

I had 6 ..... I now have none .... replaced with Eheims that actually work.
