As much filtration as the fish can stand. Max current in th etank particularly at the surface. The caveat is that I provide rocks and places for fish to get out of the fast moving water.

On My 110 I have 2 HOB AQ at 500GPH and a pengiun at 350 GPH and a FX5 at 965 so im at about 1815 GPH

560 GPH with two Emporer 280's on my 60 gallon. It may not be 10 times in turn over rate, but it's close enough. Especially just for one fish really.
When I pick up a new tank (80-100 gallon), I'm not sure if I can just get by with two Emperor 400's or if I should buy a nice Ehime Canister and have just one Emporer 400? I know I should, but I remember the last time I had a canister filter, and I didn't like the maintenance at all. It was the Fluval 404 before it was redesigned. If it's really possible to service the media in these new canister filters without all the water spilling out from the hoses, I'll seriously consider it tho.
