How many here have eaten their red tailcat or another fish?

Naw, I couldn't eat my pet fish.
That's hard core talking about their different personalities. LOL.
In an outdoor in-ground pond, yeah. If that was the plan, it'd be just like going fishing.

a few months ago, some guy posted questions about tank-raising fish just for food though. I don't recall any objections. His post was about the economic feasibility.

i remember seeing that about raising fish for food. its easier when you know the plan

I've eaten Jack Dempseys, managuenses, Petenia spendida, Tilapia buttikoferi all from my tanks. Jack had a swim bladder problem, Petenia an eye infection, can't remember why the others, but better than letting them suffer, and chucking them into the trash. And I only use salt as a med, it only adds to the flavor. If you go to a market in Saigon, it's full of baskets with gouramis, barbs and plenty of others to eat, you'd recognize from your tanks, and in certain parts of Mexico, the fish markets are full of cichlids, such as Vieja, Herichthys, snook, etc.

I have no problems with eating any type of fish, I just have problems eating my pet fish.
