How many here have eaten their red tailcat or another fish?

Lol I should try this with pacu. My LFS sells them for $4 at 4". I dont think I could bring myself to it though. I've euthanized fish before and it's terrible for me. I love eating fish though. First pic is of a big channel cat I caught and ate and the second pic is my channel cat that I wouldn't harm.

that's cause your cats so cute. i think if you raise it with the understanding that its.guna be food its.easier. even then it could be hard to actually kill it. im sure a buddy.would love to jump,in and do that for you. my friends always joke about eating my fish.

also pacus are so darn ugly!

its ok you can say im not a hobbiest because i can eat a catfish ive raised. maybe im more of a hobbiest then you are cause i love going through and enjoing the differnt stages of the fish and also the personalities that come out more in each fish. also to note this whole process takes a good year and a half. and thats already 5 years of watching, careing for and eating rtc! and all in a home aquarium which is more hobby like then raiseing the guy until hes to.big and throwing in a pond until he dies.

Do you really believe this yourself? Im not going to even argue with a person who can't spell and reflects intelligence in such a negative manner. Like I said, move to a farm and become a farmer.

A farmer calls himself a farmer due to the occupation, a hobbyist and a farmer is not the same thing. How the hell do you justify someone going into a shop and buying beef that a "little boy raised"... LOL...

We are going into a grocery shop to buy food for consumption. will tell you what, raise your own cows from now on and kill it...much better than raising RTCs no?

Yeah agreed. And I would say pacu are the only fish I could do that with because of how many, how cheap, and how yummy they are.

If i could i'd eat every fish that has ever died of mine.But they died not got too big
 
I grew up on a farm raised a lot of animals as pets and then ate them. You can look at that anyway you choose too. Its not evil and it surely doesn't make you a serial killer to treat and animal with kindness and respect and then eat it. just because its food doesn't mean it should be treated any different. Treating your food with respect makes you a a better man.

There is a line that so many do not understand now days. The average person is far to removed from the meals they eat. I think everyone should have to live on a working farm for a year or so. It does you good to see that animals arent people they are food yet at the same time they still deserve a certain amount of care and respect. I think commercial farms should be done away with. Feed lots and grow sheds, mile long chicken houses.cause the end products to be crammed full of hormones and antibiotics. We need to move back to the local small farms they produce better food better care for the animals and ate better for the economic growth in the surrounding area. Not the mention more well rounded clear thinking children.

i dont eat fish but my friend ate my 23" hybrid. i was like where have you ever seen this on the menu. saved me from disposing of it.

My friend joke about eating my fish all the time. I always tell them, you pay my price you can eat anything you want. lol man i would be rich haha
