Aquariums are designed to transfer the weight into the 4 corners of the tank. nearly every mass producing manufacturers tank w/ stand combo has a very tiny gap between the stands long-sided 'support' and the bottom of the tank. If you take a piece of paper and stick it in that gap and run it left or right it will get stopped right before it reaches one of the corners. try it
It is because of this i am able to run my entire 11k gallon facility with no center supports. and believe me, as a full-time 24/7 operating importing & exporting facility I am abusing these tanks on a daily basis more than a home aquarium will probably ever see in a lifetime. I am even known( to customers shock and surprise) stand on the corners of the larger tanks to reach a upper level tank in my facility!
Here is an older video of just one of the rooms in my facility right after it was re-setup when I moved to the current 'new' location in 2019 after these very same tanks were in the original facility since 1995. Mo Devlin (AquaMojo) was kind enough to record a quick vid on one of his visits once I had completed this particular room.
note, the lack of center supports even on the large tanks. This is just one of the rooms in my facility and at the time of the video was the only completed room during the move. The tanks are pretty resilient. As long as they are dead set level they typically last forever and can hold a lot a weight.
