How many minor keepers are on here.

I think the main thing for a teen keeper who is thinking of ponding is to remember you will leave your parents in say the next 5 years and will not be able to put a pool in a apartment. The biggest thing i could recommend is the 150-210 gallon rubbermaid tub's they come in all kinds of colors are aquarium/farm safe, drillable its the way im going they never leak unless cracked add white sand and boom or cut a hole and bond glass way cheaper than plywood builds or pools that will mess up in the next 6-9 years from something weakening.

Joe, i like you, you seem to have a pretty level head on your shoulders. Might be an idea to start an "Official Teen MFK Thread" or something along those lines for 18 and under keepers to have a thread to them selves without having to worry about getting flamed by older posters Possibly pm a mod who would keep a closer eye on in to keep any flaming and stuff from other posters to a minimum. With the teen bashing that has been going on, i can imagine that there is more than one teen lurker out there afraid to ask something for fear of flaming. just a thought.

p.s. I use the term getting "getting flamed by older posters" and do understand that most of the flaming is usually due to advice being offered by a member and turned down by the OP because
it does not fit with what they want to hear, but maybe if good teen posters like aquaman95 who in this thread has shown some knowledge and actually finances his hobby were to answer them they would listen. Its worth a shot.

I'm if not the main one of the main posters that's a teen and gets flamed.... People are constantly putting down my ideas and questions. So, I just make posts and ignore them when they flame me. I think other teens should do the same.

I was 16 when I got started (not sure if that counts) I remember i bought a 40gal breeder with my first paycheck. Happy fish keeping guys!

Collect pictures off this site of indoor ponds. Also get pictures of them being built safely. Do your homework and know every detail. Then show your parents how everyone on here does it and how good it can look. Then before they have a chance to say anything tell them all the details about safety... Chances are, they will still laugh at you. Then you wait 10 years until you can buy your own house.

True i have seen you get told stuff that is right just presented wrong by alot of the more older keeper's.Andrew you seem like you are cool and just have a lot of ideas(who doesn't)that are a little far fetched for most i believe if you did proper research you could do most of them (with help). You open yourself up for it man and by ignoring it it just makes you look immature its ok to ignore the ohh this kid again but when somebody wants to pre-warn you on something they have personal experience with you should listen.............you do not need a monster tank to be a monster fish keeper its a lifestyle and by monster its the monster dedication you have and i see you have it just remember that.

And might i ask instead of setting up the plywood why not start breeding something more exotic on a smaller scale it would be more fast paced guarantee you would be more happy with it...Why keep it a hobby make a career out of it with your dedication i see it having a less disastrous ending if something goes wrong.or maybe a 90 gallon saltwater would do you right.....do not take my advice ponder on it.

I'm thinking of starting a group if people are interested it would work as a safe posting place.(lurkers stay tuned this is a good chance to safely break in.
on here of course what do you think guys?
