How many minor keepers are on here.

Collect pictures off this site of indoor ponds. Also get pictures of them being built safely. Do your homework and know every detail. Then show your parents how everyone on here does it and how good it can look. Then before they have a chance to say anything tell them all the details about safety... Chances are, they will still laugh at you. Then you wait 10 years until you can buy your own house.

Ya I don't ignore any posts other than threats and bad comments towards me... Any comments headed towards fish or tanks I pay attention to. Anything about me and me being wrong/"stupid" I ignore. I have began to ignore these flamers. Thank you for your great advice! I'll definetly look into it.

Thanks a lot for the input guys :)
Guess I will leave the indoor pond until I am in my own house, and for now concentrate on getting hold of a cheap 115-150 gal, which my parents possibly would allow next year.

I'm just curious how many of you younger mfk'ers have parents that were or are still fish keepers at present? And how many started on their own accord?

Not bashing any one, but just curious, coz i grew up around fish as a kid...

Right here man...my mom had a very uneducated 80's style take on things but we figured it out with a lot of help and dedication now we know...
oscars are not bad @$$
55 gal is not the worlds biggest tank
UGF is not all there is
Gold fish get huge
Test water bi weekly
and do weekly w/c
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY PROPER DIET AND NUTRITION.We have always had something even if it was just a 45 gallon guppie tank.

i'de guess about half.. my dad was a SW nut.. and most the people i know in their late 20's early 30's had at least a betta growing up. I know my daughter is/will be raised with a fishtank in the house ( not to mention a cat, horse, and eventually a dog when we get a place suitable for haveing one) and while we will fully support any pet ideas she has.. there are restrictions... down side of haveing an animal savvy parent.. i had alligators for awhile as well as some other more dangerous species of reptiles. and other pets that where way over my head... did I learn from the experiances? of course.. but the animals more often then not suffered for it. Some of those memories are not pleasent ones, and have kept me up at night a time or two in the past.

my 6 month old has her own community tank.. and we're learning hands do not go into the tank atm.. lol But she is fascinated. aquarium keeping is a great hobby for children/kids/young adults. But most young people don't truely grasp they are holding another creatures life in their hands. granted some adults could stand to learn this.
