I would do a virity, maybe 4 oscars, 1 midas, 1 green terror, 1 pearsei, 1 paracromis species that isn't overly aggressive and large such as a freddy or loseli, get some vejias, maybe some convicts for dither fish and to make the tank more active, and of corse b silver arawana...

A dovii, jack Dempsey, and Oscar have very little in common with each other. One is a dumb brute, one is a skittish, although very pretty, hider, and one kills anything that comes near it.

+1
Oscars have a very fun personality, but they mainly just want food. And from what Ive seen, once they get to their max. size they kind of mellow out and arent as active as they were when little IME.

If I was in your position with a tank that big, I would honestly get a couple of buttikoferi. They are very interactive but also intelligent fish and I love their patterned colors. One will come out the dominant and rule the tank! Then I would just keep a pair as they are killers.

None. Go with cooler fish

Really? Nothing wrong with keeping the species you like as long as it can be properly housed it's your tank, your choice, your money, your fish. Good luck and post pics we love pics. Start off with a group of about 6 fish and you should be fine, unless you are unlucky enough to end up with 3 pairs, then your 750 might not seem so big. Seriously you just have to grow them out see how it works.

If someone feels the need for "cooler/exotic" however: These two should scratch the itch.

Astronotus orbicularis (Bumbelbee Oscar) from the area around Sao Paulo Brazil and can be very aggresive. I think this is a variant of Astronotus ocellatus (common oscar) and not a sperate species. How if someone knows for sure plese correct me if I'm wrong.

Astronotus crassipinnis is another species, slightly similar than Astronotus ocellatus.
