HOW MANY RAYS HAVE YOU MURDERED?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still have not lost a ray yet and don't plan on it, but have only been keeping rays for about a year and a half. I have a 14" male motoro and retic pair. I always keep up on my water changes.

What makes rays so difficult to keep?

There adult size and the demand on your filtration system. They love to eat and in turn poo LOL! You need a big tank with a big foot print and powerful filtration.

It is definitely a big step. Most WC rays come in skinny and sick. The cheaper the ray the better chance it will be in worst shape and die. My first ray I lost was a female castexi that I paid $400 for. I had her 6 months was a big eater and not a mark on her. One day I came home and she was dead. Then my second was a flower ray that I take the credit for killing. Still upset about that one. Then my last was a female aparicio that came in a skeleton with a bacterial infection. She was doomed from day one.

I've lost 16 rays in 7 years.. I'm keeping 18 rays currently...( pups I sell off.)

2 motoro pups which never started eating... 1 from ammonia spike, 1 huge mm from 1 huge SP from experimenting with medicines, 2 pearls and 1 PDR SP from power failure, 3 baby SP which never started eating, 1 reticulated from ammonia spike, 2 SP pups from a suddenly aggressive female, 1 from a rays curled up and swimming down a small pipe, 1 huge mama after birth and 1 still born.

0 for 0 is my record. I wouldn't ever buy one unless I had a 500 or bigger, cuz I would get obsessed like i do with everything
