how many running tanks does it take to qualify for a "fishroom"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My basement is my fishroom with the wide hallway to the main room lined with a 125g, 180g, and 2 55g's, then the main room has 2 20g longs and 2 10g's, and the storage area has a 125g, 55g, 2 10g's and a 5g that are not set up.

My wife considers our house a fish house....had 8 tanks just cut it down to six. Pretty much one in every room!!

When I was single I had 6 tanks in my dining room. 3x 55, a 75, a 40L and a 29. I still had a dining room table in there. so I never considered it a fishroom. BTW I also had 3x 10ga in the living room a 55 in my bedroom, two 20L in the spare bedroom and a 38 in the kitchen. and none in the basement!
I guess I should have thought of it as a fishroom when my mom said she couldn't come over anymore because all the gurgling water made her have to pee too much.

i say when there is no room to add another tank and theres nothing else in the room. in my fishroom i have 2x10s,55,150,180,105,2x27s. then i have 3 other tanks throughout the house. i say you are an addict when you run out of room in the fish room and then put somemore thoughout the house.

Its pretty much a room fill with tanks (with fish, duh) that is covering every inch of the wall.

If it's one tank but 4000 gallons then that would be a fish room to me. If it's ten 10 gallon tanks then that would be a fish room too. It depends on how the tank and room are setup. As long as the main purpose or biggest feature in the room is the fish tank then it would be a fish room. If you have one 400 gallon tank with one guppy in it but then a 52 inch flat screen tv in the same room we probably all agree who's getting more attention in that room and what room that would be.

Me personally I'd love to have a room with 2-4 large tanks 200-400g range and then probably about 4 smaller tanks 50-100g range and make that all nicely in one room. That would be my fish room. I would put a nice couch and small table in there, maybe a bar and it would be my room to go and relax in and forget about the rest of the world for an hour here and there.

I have 7 tanks and I'm thinking of one more. 3 in my livingroom, 1 in my bedroom and 3 in my office and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of a private house. Thank God for double stands, otherwise, I would still have just 3.

I have just a 50 breeder in my spare bedroom with a t.v. and a lazy boy chair. Also keep my computer in there. I run to get away from the old lady and watch my tank and the t.v. So this is my fishroom because there is nothing else in there and she stays out of "my" fishroom. LOL

I think that sums it up lmao
My bedroom maxed out at 5 but currently has 2 (upgraded in size, downsized in numbers :headbang2) I still consider it my fish room at least for now.
...as of now.. I have a 29G, 10hex, 25G, 10g, and a 20L in my bedroom.. LOL..

Oh yeah.. and my leopard gecko's 20G too.. but I guess it's not considered a "fish tank" per-say..:cool-1:
