Looks like I've managed to score myself a petsmart job interview today set for tomorrow. I might get what some here would call the unlucky chance of having to teach people who most likely don't know jack about aquariums lol.
Lol I should be fine. I've found that people will actually be more interested and engaged when they get good advice....that and I have a high tolerance for stupidity when on the clock lol. This'll be my third job so far if I get it.
its rewarding when you get someone to listen to you. most of the time you get people that don't give a **** about what you have to say though. working at the pet store left a huge chip on my shoulder.
I'm prepared for that. I'm also prepared to have that subtle "I told ya so" look when they come back with dead fish, demanding a refund because they didn't listen to me lmao.
working at a fish store is a lot of fun because you get a lot of experience with a lot of different fish but dealing with the people and the amount of dead fish returned and the amount of dead fish received during shipment will test you. but like i said, its nice when you positively influence a few people.
I already know about the DOA percentage during shipping and the first week at the store. I'm already going into this knowing that not every fish comes in healthy, people having Oscars or some other random huge fish in 55's, Noah's ark style tanks of one of every colorful fishy in store, and just people who outright don't know crap and might not take kindly to any of my suggestions lol.
I'm trying to get this experience for later in life if I decide to open up a brick and mortar fish store. That and this fishy addiction has to be paid for somehow.
