How much did you spend for fish keeping?

Not including fish. I believe my initial investment was around $200 for a complete 55 and about 700 for a new 120 and 2 rena xp4's (fish store was going out of business so I got a decent deal). Since then, I have sold both of those tanks and had 55x3,65,75,90,125,135. I found good deals, did some refinishing and resold for profit and now have a 180 (stand and canopy w 2 fx5's) 150(stand and canopy and 2 xp4s) and a 55g(metal stand and xp3) with honestly less than $200 out of pocket expenses. I kept track of my fish tank money seperately and used that money to buy food, supplies and some fish.

if I had to guess I have prob spent 3000 on my 240 alone

I tally all my fish equipments and fish onto a spread sheet, that was when I realized i spent way too much on my fish hobby! kinda wished I did not, after creating the spreadsheet I sold most of my big tanks.

After doing the spread sheet all I see is $$$ sitting in the corner of the room, I no longer see the enjoyment I once did. Never the less I still have 4 tanks running.

It's too late for me to calculate the amount of money that I have spent over the years. It's safely in the thousands though for sure. My wife is very patient:).

Probably $10,000 in the last two years.

Most likely $150 dollars in the last 12 years and that was manly for fish pumps and buying a 10 gallon fish tank set up. In the next few weeks I plan to buy a $100 fish hood in that the old one has had over 20 years of service and half it doesn't work.

Who knows?
I have four tanks now and have some pricey pets and a drawer full of receipts.
I have bought a ton of stuff from eBay and craigslist but still I am in it for a few dollars as we all are.
