The thing that the pool-as-pond has going for it is the light blue liner...I'll be able to see my fish :)

Chinook yours is really nice, if I had a place to put it I'd totally do an indoor pond like that, it's pimp. Though mine would be gars and aros (and yeah, probably cats too).
next year imma build a bigger one. 8'x16'x5'.

Stunning pond
thanks! it really is very relaxing to sit there and feed the koi...

I wouldn't say it's bad but it's nice to know that if any introduced pathogens make their way into your pond by wild animals, bugs, frogs etc. they will be killed by the uv sterilizer Mine is in the Arizona sun for most of the day so I needed one really bad.

ok...i see. and it also gets rid of the green tint in the water to right?

yeah, in IMO, a UV light is good for keeping the water from turning green. if its not in direct sunlight all day and doesnt get green, i really see no need for it. of course it will help sterilize and kill any bad stuff, but i just dont think its a requirement...

yup, it kills algae as it passes by the light. that pond pictured use to get really green. we added a UV light and it was literally crystal clear within a week!

What he said! It really does make a difference. My fish are very healthy and super colorful too! I think the sun does something for the pigments My wife put her angel fish in the pond and they are the most vibrant angels I have ever seen.
