How much do you tip your barber?

He used a straight blade to your face and neck? The places my friends and I go to are old school barbers.

If you want them to they will. I normally just get the safety razor though because it's cheaper.

Well I don't usually have regular haircuts. I had a haircut a month and half ago and will get my head shaved on the Friday before the first weekend of February. But usually I tip $3 to pay an even $15.

My barber shapes me up with a straight razor.I have been to some places that will ask if I want that used or not and some places did not ask, didn't use it and didn't appear to even have any.Around here it seems a new shop pops up monthly and the new barbers don't like to use straight razors....I don't go to those places.

I tip a whopping $0 dollars because it costs $17 for a haircut at Cost Cutters... 20 minutes of minimal labor and I fork over 17... Sorry but I don't feel bad.
Hard to blame ya for not tipping if you spend almost twenty bucks for the haircut.

I have slow growing hair and only get it cut once a year.

In the 90's it would take several years to get it past my shoulders.

I've never paid for a haircut in my life, my mum was a professional hairdresser; i still get free cuts every 10 days haha

somebody help me understand...............

why in God's green earth do we tip barbers? what is the logic and reason behind that?

from what I understand, and correct me if i'm wrong, they do not get paid $2.50/hr (for example) and depend on tips like a waiter/waitress do they? just from a quick search the median pay is about $25k a year. on the low side it's about $20k and average is about $30k.

unless they to get paid lower than min wage (like the food industry model) then I get why they're tipped. it's the same bs reason why waiters get tipped

but if they don't get a lower-than-min wage hourly pay, why the hell do they get tipped?
