The first tank I remember having was a 10g in 1966, since then I have almost always had at least a pickle jar with some locals in it, even when overseas. Even in Panama I kept a couple 5g glass jars for fish and shrimp.
Since I have been on this site I have learned quite a bit more about large or unusual fish than I ever knew before. Just the "guess the fish" games get me researching and reveiwing things that catch my eye.

Im still learning...

Always will be...

I've had goldfish and Bettas since I was little but got into Cichlids about 4 years ago when I "adopted" 2 Oscars and a 55 gallon tank... Well that didnt go too well. Thank goodness for the internet I've been researching and thank goodness I found this site.. You can ask a question because you dont know the answer and not feel like a total idiot.:)

And I would not consider myself an "expert" but more knowledgeable than many fishkeepers out there... Like when I went to walmart and there was this couple buying 2 goldfish to put into a vase on the living room table.. They didnt like me very much!!!:D

I'm 17, going on 18. I've had a fishtank in my home since day one, but began keeping my own tanks since age 8.

I have been keeping fish for 11 years and still learn new stuff all the time.

You have to remember EVERYTHING is relative most of the active members on this forum would know more than 90% of the people that wander in their LFS every day to buy a 10 gallon starter kit and a "Man eating Pacu" I would consider most the people here to be "advanced hobbyist" with just a few experts

The best thing is with our combined knowledge and thoughts here on this forum we have a very deep reservoir of fish keeping knowledge that anyone can come and learn from

I have been keeping fishes for 3 years. During these years, I have learned so much about fishes though books, websites, and friends.
I kept over 70 types of fishes and breeding fishes constantly. I have breed Green Terror, Midas, convict, Apistogramma cacatuoides, German Blue Ram, Blue Diamond Disus, Albino bushnose Pleco, Thorichthys aureus , Thorichthys meeki
,Sajica, Bettas, Angels.

THere are so much stuffs to learn about fish keeping. I am constantly learning from the other hobbists and books.
