I have had this same rock in my 125 for almost a year with no problems(assorted cichlids)?

WOAH WOAH WOAH.
Is anyone seeing all that red in that middle set of rocks?

Looks like a crap load of iron veins man.
Be careful.

The egg crate is just for protection for the glass at the bottom but not nesseasry just precautionary. I have a 135 with a lot of rock. None bonded together and no nitrate issues. You obviousllt need to be carefull of rocks falling over and hitting the glass. Hitting any glass just right in the right areas will cause a crack but stacking them as you have in your pics looks like it should be stable enough. As far as to much rock. Just rememeber that the rock dispalces the water. So the weight will not end up being as much as you think. Only that the water volume in your tank will decreas e with the addition of rocks.

a couple examples of mine...hope this helps

And thats why they look like they HAVE been leaching for some time.
Some of those rocks have metal in them bro.
Notice any brown spots on your glass ever?
It's algae and iron.

shanebetzina, That looks like a fish's paradise. Nice job and thanks for the feedback. what do you have in their?

Largemouthbadbass, These rocks have never been in a tank yet. I ment to say I have the same type of rock in my other tank. No brown spots what so ever. Not saying theirs no iron but I am saying no problems with using this type of rock so far.
