How much on average do you spend feeding your fish every month ?

I always like to see what people are spending / feeding their fish to see how I can modify my fish food and save in any kind of way . So far the only pellets that my fish are eating are the xtreme monster pellets. Ive tried the floating carnisticks and they are not crazy about it . they wont eat feeders or pieces of fish . they will however eat random bugs , night crawlers . But this time of the year the ground is frozen solid so my costs go up until the ground isn't frozen anymore. Shipping costs for cheaper food usually ends up being the same price as buying in the lfs . I sure wish they had massivore around here so I can try it .

With the 4 tanks in my sig, it's tough to quantify it's such a small amount. I go through Hikari bio gold plus the most, but even a bag of that lasts me 2 months or more. The various freeze-dried, flake and pellets for the other tanks last months as well. I would guess I spend well under $100/year on fish food.

I wish I could only spend $100 a year on fish food.. maybe I should get smaller fish lol

I think I spend more money on my fish thru my water and power bills.

I hear ya! My water bills are double that of my 'fishless' friends, and as for power bills... Let's not get into that.

lol my water and power are both in the mid to high 300s range... ha.ha.ha. . . . . . lol

and would still have over half of it if not for my cats also enjoying them and knocking them off the table while I'm turned around feeding the fish

He, he. My cat passed away but he used to get nuts over bloodworms. I actually used to give him a block from time to time as a treat. Just the smell drove him crazy and he meowed like a lunatic for it. And if I left a packet of dry fish food opened by accident, he'd get to it and eat it too.
