How much should I feed an oscar?

your definitly the first person i know to compare himself to a fish.

first of all 1-2 min is just perfect for an oscar 15 min is WAYY to much

second...... feeding him for 15 min and throwing out all the food will waste alot of food for absolutly no reason.

and third of all....... oscars are very messy eaters and feeding 15 min worth of food is gunna cause a very big problem if u dont have the enough filtration.

if you feed you fish for 15 min good for you but there is no reason for it.in the wild a fish will eat whenever it finds food it wont eat 15 min evreyfeeding

as much as your wallet will allow lol i got rid of my big oscars cuz they would each eat atleast 5 or 6 big goldies in a day

Make sure you feed veggie pellets in the mix. Get him on a varied diet. But you can feed the "O" as much as it will eat aka "power feed" it make it grow faster. as for the con question, buy a few con and you'll find your pair.

anyways no point in arguing over feeding lol we all have diffrent methods and difrent opinions

put in however much food your oscar will eat in 15 minutes. if any food is left after 15 minutes scoop it out and throw it away. if you are sure they are male or female if you get one of each they should pair up.

the oscar is not an idiot, it will eat until it is full, that is how much you should feed it. do you like to sit down at a dinner table eat and get up still hungry cause you only got an appetizer? neither do i. feed the fish what it wants to eat if you want it to thrive. its natural instinct will tell it when it is full.

Comparing fish eating habits to people is silly. I have a 4 inch pike cichlid that will happily gorge itself if I keep giving it food.

if you want your oscar to grow feed him 2 times a day about 1 min each time. Oscars will eat evreything in 10 sec lmao so feed him abit at a time until about a minite passes.once he gets bigger and older 1 time a day would be enough.
i would feed mine when i have breakfast and when i have supper

i fed mine 2-3 times a day when it was that small. it will put size on them fast.

i've always wanted to learn about sumps...i'm guessing you bring water from the tank down into the sump, get it filtered, and then bring it back up. the bringing it back up part sounds like it'll cost money tho

although I might need one...b/c my parents say my two marineland penguin filters are too noisy so I only turn on one(good for 75g but 150 with 2 would be better xD)
