I got a 225 gallon. I'm planning on doing stingrays with discus.

How much water would be best to turn for both of them? Anyone got any recommendations on overflow size and pump?

well what kind of overflow you getting... id get the biggest you can... a 55 gallon would be perfect for a sump... you can split your flow up to what ever works best for your fish but i would look for 1200 a hour

Sounds good. I converted a 55 into a sump and I was planning on doing 1200-1500 an hour. I just didn't know if that flow would be too much for discus.

Thanks

you might have to play around with it... split the return into 2 lines.. but you may need to split them as well...

On my 200 with a 80 gallon sump I am running 2400 gph and even that seems undersized. My return line has 4 outlets across the back of the tank so the current is not very strong but still high volume.
