Flowerhorns are the result of selective breeding, not dying. Dying the eggs would either kill the eggs or get you colorful eggs.

selecting breeding or/and dying eggs are still an experiment. Who ever created the first flowerhorn, don't really know exactly he will get a flowerhorn. He experimented with different fishes to prove his assumption.
