How often do you clean your canister filters?

I clean my RenaX4 out every 5-6 months. I could let it go longer but this is about when I do mine. I think stocking has a big impact on the leingth of time we clean our canisters.
I have a total of 7 fish in a 300gl. Biggest @ 14" and the rest are 8.5"
Also I dont over feed and my Sump catches a lot of stuff. My Sump pre-filter is a diff story:)
I rinse out the pre-filter out every other month or so
 
One filter a week with 50G WC's.
Equates to once every 5 weeks or so.

Most people dont but i clean mine each spring and fall. I tie the pipe cleaner to fishing line and put a lead weight on the other end of the line. I drop the weight in the tube to carry the line through then i pull it through. Im sure there are easier ways but thats how i do it
 
I have had My FX5 on my 125 set up for about 4 months and cleaned it once so far but that was just b/c I wanted to see what was in it lol.
 
I clean mine out about every 4-6 weeks. It is an XP3 on a 135 gallon....Stocked with 12 Discus (6 to 8 inches) and 14, yes, 14 clown loaches (4-7 inches).
 
I do my filters every 6 - 8 weeks on the fresh tanks, every 2 weeks on the nano marine tank. I have a fairly high fish load and am probably guilty of overfeeding.....
 
I have two XP3's, a modified pool filter, and a wet/dry on my 450G tank. Change media on the XP's and pool filter about 4-6 weeks.
