How often do you rinse your filter media

-the sponge in my shrimp tank gets done about every 8 weeks or so..
-the ac110s get done every other week (big pleco in that tank)
-sumps get done about once a year
-canisters.. havent had to clean them yet.. but due to the huge sponge filter i put on the intake im guessing maybe once a year
-lil hobs.. hmm.. i dunno.. maybe once every 3-4 months

I have 2 emperor 400s and I like to rinse the filter pads every month or so and replace them every 6 months..

I rinse the internal filter sponges once a week, canisters every 6-8 weeks and sumps I change the prefilter wool every 1-2 weeks, never rinse the bio media though.

AC 110's, i hav e2 on a 75g. i rotate and tear one down completely every week.

Why ? And to what degree do you tear them down?

i do my 2215 once a month fluval 3+ internal every 3 days

I clean my filter every month and change the media every 2 to 3 months

i do my mechanical once a month for my Eheim 2028 and AC 20. i have never opened up my FX 5. it doesn't have any pads or carbon and things that clog easily.

ive never cleaned my bio media before, i just take a look and sift through it for large debris. ive never found any debris the one time ive done it, so im not gonna do it again.

I change the mechanical media in my sump every week...I don't rinse...I actually throw it away.

I never touch my bio.
