hey guys i'm wondering about how good you MFK guys are in fish keeping. To be honest i would be a master in training. be honest about yours.

thanks for voting!

I put master in training, I like to think I know a lot about fishkeeping, but I still have a lot to learn, plus it sounded cool

feel free to comment why you think you have this fish keeping status!

Every man ( or woman) is my superior, in that I may learn something from him (or her). I always try to live by this saying. I've kept fish for 30 years, and most people here teach me new things all the time.

I have so much to still learn and so many more types of fish to raise.
I am just a knowledgeable keeper who looks to all you experts/masters for advice.

I'd bet most people on MFK fall into the "knowledgeable" category at most, even if they don't realize it. An "expert" to me is someone who would likely have formal education in ichthyology and extensive knowledge with the hobby and a master would be someone on the level of a PhD that has studied species in their natural environment. A master in training would be moving towards these goals.
If you don't have formal education on the subject, you ultimately are just a hobbyist. You may be a very very knowledgable hobbyist, but you will likely never fully understand the many aspects of the chemistry and biology of the subject.
As far as keeping "a few exotic fish," anyone with the money can go buy any fish they want.

i dig it...

Well everytime I think I know something I find out how much I don't know, and how much there is to learn. The further you get into the hobby it seems the less you know. I apologize to the poor fish that I have cost their lives. I hope to soon learn enough to make good decisions and be more patient.

Getting ready to build a better sump with a bioreactor.

I'm gonna say master in training, as I'm quite good and very knowledgeable but there is always more to learn.
