How tall a stand is too tall?

most of my stands range from 2 feet to 3 feet though I have this 168 tall on a 3 1/2 ft stand. I would say so long as its built right the height can be whatever you wish.

I have a 240 on a 38" stand with a 7" canopy total height is 69". It is very stable but a 110 is narrower, you might want to attach it to the wall studs. Joe
I have a 90g on a stand that is 32" tall and am about to make a new stand because I find it too tall. Maintenence can be a pain at times. My tank is in a position that most times you are viewing it you are sitting. If It were in a spot I was mostly standing I would probably have a different opinion.
It's personal choice.
My father and I built stands for years for stores in 3 states. All of ours are built to 30" tank base height.
